TKS Reconfigures Bangkok ‘Daily News’ Press for More Color

By: E&P Staff

TKS will upgrade the press at the Daily News, Bangkok, Thailand, in a reconfiguration that increases color from 24 to 40 of the 48 pages.

TKS performed earlier press modifications and additions that allowed for more color pages. Now comprising three mono blanket-to-blanket units and two satellite units with two standalone halfdecks, with a tower at each end and the folder in the middle, the reconfigured press will replace the mono units with two more towers.

In addition to increasing its color capacity, the longtime TKS customer will upgrade from a 2:1 folder to a 2:3:3 jaw folder. The new folder will have the 70-degree former board for better control of the larger single section. This allows expansion of color into daily production of approximately two hundred thousand copies. Production with expanded color is planned for summer.
