Tribune Media Services (TMS) and Hollywood trade publication Variety have announced plans to launch the Variety Entertainment News Service on Sept. 26.
The daily service — available to print and online newspapers in the U.S. and abroad — will offer news stories, feature articles, profiles, analysis pieces, opinion columns, box-office reports, photos, and movie, TV, theater, and music reviews.
“Our new partnership with Tribune Media Services makes this ‘insider’ information available to a whole new audience,” said Charlie Koones, president and publisher of the Variety Group.
The service will draw editorial content from Daily Variety, Weekly Variety, Variety.com, and VLife — a bimonthly magazine about the lifestyles of stars and other high-profile people in the entertainment industry. The service will also supply content from the weekly trade publication Video Business.
Variety — which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year — and Video Business are units of Reed Business Information, a publisher of more than 100 trade titles and other publications.
