A baseball telecast tracking application for online newspapers is being offered by Tribune Media Services (TMS).
“With the explosion of sports programming on television, consumers are challenged with finding the right channel where their team will play,” TMS Executive Director/Sales Cameron Yung said in a statement. “This fills the need for a quick, visual way of providing that information in a format that naturally lends itself to an advertising sponsorship.”
Designed to fit on newspaper Web site pages, the application automatically tracks and updates home-team schedules and includes all baseball games on local and national channels in an area.
TMS selected NewsGator Technologies to power the service, as well as other TV-listing and movie-listing “mini-apps” now under development that TMS plans to offer online newspapers.
