Web Site Host For Newspapers Gets Bigger

TownNews.com, based in Moline, Ill., has acquired Anytime News to create an
online newspaper network of more than 500 U.S. newspapers – mostly small-
to medium-sized publications.

Based in Chanhassen, Minn., Anytime News, which hosts almost 150 online
newspapers, was created and owned by Community Newspapers Online. Anytime News
was created by seven community newspaper publishers and Inetium, a technology
company.

TownNews.com, which is operated by the International Newspaper Network, will
combine Anytime News with its existing 390 online newspapers. The resulting
online network represents newspapers from 41 states, the company said.

The companies’ leaders said there will be no change in services or products at
either group. The integration of Anytime News into TownNews.com will occur over
the next two months.

Lee Enterprises, based in Davenport, Iowa, is a majority owner of the
International Newspaper Network.
