Tribune Interactive of Chicago and Le Monde Interactif of Paris have joined the Online Publishers Association (OPA), which now has 19 members.

The New York-based group also said Le Monde will take the lead in expanding membership in Europe.

Tribune Interactive President David D. Hiller and Le Monde Interactif CEO Bruno Patino were elected to the OPA board.

The OPA’s mission “is to advance the interests of high-quality online publishers before the advertising community, the press, the government and the public.” Other members include CNET, Cox Enterprises, Knight Ridder Digital, MSNBC.com, New York Times Digital, USAToday.com, and The Wall Street Journal Online.
