John Hendricks has been promoted to executive vice president/interactive and broadcast sales at the Tribune Co. Hendricks previously served as senior vice president/sales at the company’s broadcasting division.
In his new role, Hendricks oversees national and local sales efforts for Tribune’s 23 TV stations and 50 plus Web sites.
“John’s done a great job for our broadcast group, now we need him to work the same magic with sales at Tribune’s Web sites,” Marc Chase, president of Tribune Interactive, said in a statement. “He’s been taking sleight of hand lessons, learning card tricks and simple rabbit-out-of-the-hat stuff — we think he’s ready to move to the next level.”
Hendricks is responsible for strategic business and sales initiatives and coordinating broadcasting and interactive group advertising agreements. He works closely with Dana Hayes Jr., senior vice president/sales for Tribune Interactive, who reports to Hendricks.
“So much of interactive sales is making something out of nothing, I’m ideally suited for this job. Look, nothing up my sleeve,” Hendricks said in a statement.
