Trinidad and Tobago’s Trinidad Publishing Co. Ltd. has chosen Muller Martini, Allentown, Pa., to provide post-press packaging equipment for its greenfield plant, in Chaguanas, centrally located on the island of Trinidad.
Final selection was based on the supplier’s reputation, previous experiences with its equipment, customer service, and the “ability to provide a one-vendor solution,” TPC Managing Director Grenfell Kissoon said in a statement.
The project began two years ago. After deciding on a singlewide, two-around KBA Comet press (E&P Online, April 5, 2006) to support more kinds of semicommercial work with more color, and starting construction on the building, the company chose its auxiliary equipment provider.
The package consists of pairs of 4:1 AlphaLiner inserters, AF200 automatic hopper loaders, PrintStack CN-25 compensating stackers and NewsStrap bundle-strapping units, along with a bundle-distribution system.
Publicly traded TPC publishes the 90-year-old Trinidad Guardian and Sunday Guardian, offers printing services for several other publishers, and operates several radio stations and a cable TV station.
