Trump Will ‘Throw A Big Hand Grenade’ At Political Journalism, Says The Washington Post’s Margaret Sullivan

The campaign and transition of President-elect Donald Trump have not been “politics as usual,” and journalists shouldn’t treat them that way.

So says the Washington Post’s media columnist, Margaret Sullivan, formerly the public editor at the New York Times. On the latest episode of Recode Media with Peter Kafka, Sullivan recalled the two columns she wrote on election night.

    The best way the media could get Trump to change his attitude toward the media is to ignore him.. stop publishing stories about him, unless he does something that is of great national interest. They say bullies will stop if you ignore them… Well media outlets should focus more on local news stories and give Trump less media coverage.
