Two New Editors Named at ‘Daily Dispatch’ of Henderson, N.C.

The Daily Dispatch in Henderson, N.C., has named two new editors for its news and sports departments.

Mike Bollinger, previously the Dispatch?s sports editor, has been named news editor, and Randy Capps, previously the assistant sports editor at The Shelby (N.C.) Star, will replace Bollinger as sports editor.

Before coming to the Dispatch, Bollinger served as editor of several community newspapers, and also worked at the Brunswick Times-Gazette in Lawrenceville, Va. He also was a sports writer at the Dispatch from December 2000 to April 2002. He was named sports editor in December 2005.

Bollinger replaces Pat Morris who took a job at a newspaper in the Virgin Islands.

Capps’ career in sports journalism began in 2000 as a sports writer for the Marion Star & Mullins Enterprise in South Carolina. He moved to the Shelby Star in 2003 to be the assistant sports editor. Capps has also covered sports for radio and television.
