Union Out At ‘Tampa Tribune’

By: Joe Strupp

Newsprint handlers at The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune voted to decertify Graphic Communications International Union Local 180 as their bargaining representative, the newspaper announced recently.

The local had represented nine employees at the Media General Inc. daily newspaper. The 5-3 vote was taken Jan. 17, but was not announced until Feb. 1, following a required review by the National Labor Relations Board.

The decertification leaves three unions at the Tribune.
