Universal Press Syndicate and iMedia International announced agreements to license iMedia’s “Hollywood Previews” to Web sites of Cox Newspapers, the Los Angeles Newspaper Group, and Canada’s Canoe.ca.
Visitors to those sites will be able to access the “Hollywood Previews” entertainment channel — which offers videos, images, and stories about movies, music, DVDs, red-carpet events, video games, and more.
The Universal-marketed-and-syndicated “Hollywood Previews” provides thousands of pages of content (including 2,500-plus videos) that are updated daily. The service can be co-branded or private-branded to fit within a newspaper’s Web framework, and has advertising and other revenue possibilities.
“‘Hollywood Previews’ is an extremely important project for Universal,” said the syndicate’s vice president of sales, John Vivona, in a statement. “The timing seems ideal because many newspaper Web sites are looking to strengthen their entertainment category and build out their video content.”
