A comic called “W.T. Duck” is being distributed by Universal Press Syndicate.
Aaron Johnson’s feature stars a duck who works as a photographer among humans — and deals with crying babies, “bridezilla” complexes, and more.
According to a Universal bio, Johnson came up with the idea for “W.T. Duck” in July 2006 while his band’s primary blogger was out of town. He posted the comic on the band’s Web site, and the strip quickly got popular.
The Wisconsin-based Johnson is a believer in online interactivity with his readers. When a new comic debuts on the “W.T. Duck” site each day, it’s identified only by a number. Readers then contribute ideas to give that strip a formal title.
In addition to drawing “W.T. Duck” and playing in the Sweet Jelly band, Johnson is a computer-based animator for Mad Max Designs in Milwaukee.
