Initiative Will Take Newspaper To TV, Web
USA Today announced today the first hires for the newspaper’s new broadcast
and Web initiative, USA Today Live. The new program will produce segments
based on the newspaper’s content for Gannett TV stations and for USAToday.com,
which is aiming to incorporate more video.
Dick Moore, currently news director at WXII-TV in Winston-Salem, N.C., will
become managing editor. He was general manager of KR Video, The Philadelphia
Inquirer ‘s attempt to start a nightly TV newscast in 1994.
Valery Lodato, most recently a news producer at WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C.,
will become executive producer.
