USA Today has appointed Heather Frank as vice president of vertical development, overseeing a department that creates and implements vertical content areas.

President and Publisher David L. Hunke credited Frank with achieving “tremendous success in developing our health and lifestyle vertical” since joining USA Today earlier this year as general manager of its Your Life.

Frank earlier led content programming and operations teams for RevolutionHealth.com, was editor-in-chief for Meredith Corp.’s women’s lifestyle sites, was an America Online executive from 1997 to 2003, and served as general manager for new media at Where magazines.
