USA Today on Wednesday introduced an enhanced television ratings section that includes a Top 10 list from homes with TiVo digital video recorders.
The new offering, in the paper’s Life section, analyzes aggregate data from 20,000 anonymous TiVo households. Susan Weiss, managing editor of the section, said in a statement that the service will set the nation’s best-selling daily apart from competitors.
“TiVo has revolutionized the way many Americans watch television,” she said. “Adding TiVo’s Top 10 list to our TV ratings package makes our ratings report unique and one of the most comprehensive.”
As part of the changes to the Life section the paper also is offering a bulked-up Nielsen ratings report, which includes cable networks and demographic information on top shows, the statement said.
The Nielsen ratings run every Wednesday; the TiVo Top 10 list accompanies the Nielsen report on the last Wednesday of each month.
