Each year, tens of thousands of teens enter the contest by writing original song lyrics. This year, the entry deadine is March 9. Judging the submissions will be a panel of musical artists that includes Alicia Keys, Bow Wow, Sara Evans, Damian Marley, and Hoobastank.

The grand-prize winner, to be announced this spring, will receive a trip for two to the Billboard Music Awards, a meet-and-greet with one of the show’s stars, and a VIP backstage pass, according to USA Weekend. The winner will also receive a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond and music-creation equipment from Sony. And the winning lyrics will be published in USA Weekend, which is distributed in more than 600 newspapers.
