Valassis promoted Thomas Murray to the newly created position of vice president and general manager of free-standing insert (FSI) business. In his new role, Murray will lead a team focusing on the profitability of the FSI business by increasing customer pages, improving pricing, and reducing cost of goods sold.
Murray has worked at Act Media, Time Warner, Catalina Marketing and News America Marketing, where he was vice president of the company?s in-store business. While at Catalina, he launched the industry?s first one-to-one solo direct mail business using retailer loyalty data, a business eventually acquired by Valassis. Murray joined Valassis in 2004.
