The Washington Post Writers Group is syndicating a weekly column by Alvaro Vargas Llosa starting May 15.
Vargas Llosa, whose feature will be available in English and Spanish, is a senior fellow and director of The Center on Global Prosperity at the Oakland, Calif.-based Independent Institute. He has been Op-Ed page editor and columnist at The Miami Herald, a contributor to The Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times, a columnist for various Latin American papers, a TV commentator at Univision, and more. He’s also the author of books such as “Liberty for Latin America: How to Undo Five Hundred Years of State Oppression” (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2005).
The Peru native — who has a degree in international history from the London School of Economics — is the son of Peruvian novelist Mario Vargas Llosa.
