‘Villages Daily Sun,’ ‘Adrian Daily Telegram’ Named Best in Show at Inland Press Quality Contest

The Villages (Fla.) Daily Sun and The Daily Telegram, Adrian, Mich., won Best in Show honors in the 2010 Inland Press Association Print Quality Competition.

The Daily Telegram won for black-and-white reproduction, while The Villages Daily Sun won for color reproduction.

Following are category winners in the contest, which was co-sponsored by Inland Press and Southern Lithoplate.

In the black-and-white category, circulation division winners were:

Under 15,000 – News-Register, McMinnville, Ore.
Runner-up: The North Platte Telegraph, North Platte, Neb.

15,000-35,000 – The Daily Telegram, Adrian, Mich.
Runner-up: The Santa Fe New Mexican, Santa Fe, N.M.

35,001 and over – The Villages Daily Sun, Villages, Fla.
Runner-up: El Paso Times, El Paso, Texas

In the color category, circulation division winners were:

Under 15,000 – The North Platte Telegraph, North Platte, Neb.
Runner-up: Venice Gondolier Sun, Venice, Fla

15,000-35,000 – The Daily Telegram, Adrian, Mich.
Runner-up: Wenatchee World, Wenatchee, Wash.

35,001 and over – The Villages Daily Sun, Villages, Fla.
Runner-up: Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta, Ga.
