Newscom, which offers content from more than 100 providers, has made several appointments.
David Young joins Newscom as vice president of sales. Tom Bannon, who has held that position for the past 18 months, was named vice president for business development.
Bannon was hired by Newscom in January 2007, after working as director of sales for national accounts at Getty Images. He was also senior vice president for business development at Octopus Media.
Before joining Newscom, Young was manager of business development at Platts — a McGraw Hill Company providing information and pricing services to global energy markets.
His Newscom sales team includes the addition of Christina Popes and Laure Lion as senior account executives.
Lion was previously a market development executive and sales manager for Getty Images, as well as a sales manager at Corbis.
Popes was a senior account executive for Polaris Images, and also worked as an account executive and senior account executive at Corbis.
