Bookstores Offer Online Subscription Kits
Starting today, The Wall Street Journal Online will be sold through retail packages at Barnes & Noble bookstores throughout the U.S.
The exclusive arrangement with more than 550 stores allows readers to purchase a one-year subscription to the daily online newspaper at a reduced rate of $49, $10 below the regular price. Those buying the bookstore subscription will receive a special Internet kit that includes a user name and password, a mouse pad, and a four-color site guide.
Last year, WSJ.com ran a similar promotion in over 800 Staples office supply stores.
The site announced last week that it had passed the 500,000-subscriber mark.
