The Interactive division of The Washington Post is launching an ad-supported video channel across its properties.
Washington.Newsweek Interactive (WPNI) has teamed up with Internet video company Brightcove. The channel features daily newscasts from Post reporters. Newsweek and Slate.com have already launched the channel.
“Internet video is central to the rich, multimedia storytelling our readers have come to expect from our online news sites,” Caroline Little, CEO and publisher of WPNI, said in a statement. “With Brightcove, WPNI has been able to quickly expand the distribution of our Emmy-winning video programming.”
Each WPNI property manages the content, distribution, and advertising of the channel. The company also said that it plans to recruit and distribute reader-submitted videos in the upcoming months.
