‘Wash Post’ Plans 12-Part Series on Chandra Levy Murder

By: E&P Staff

You remember the just-before-September 11 media frenzy over murdered D.C. intern Chandra Levy? It’s been forgotten for a long time but today the The Washington Post revealed that any minute it will be launching a 12-part series on the case.

Here is how the paper announced it on its Investigations page on its Web site.

The murder of Chandra Levy is one of Washington’s most famous unsolved crimes. Many people, including police and prosecutors, initially suspected that a congressman might be involved in her disappearance. For years, it has been a cold case.

Now, a year-long Post investigation reveals new information showing that critical leads were ignored, allowing a killer to get away with murder. The investigation, based on dozens of interviews with top police officials and other key figures, and thousands of pages of documents, will unfold in a 12-chapter serial plus an epilogue.

Throughout the series, this blog will feature a daily update and preview of the next chapter from the reporters. Stay tuned.
