Jones Succeeds Graham, Who Becomes Chairman
Boisfeuillet Jones Jr., associate publisher of The Washington Post, was named publisher and CEO, a move expected to let Donald E. Graham, chairman and CEO of The Washington Post Co., focus on the company’s other business units.
Graham, who had been publisher since 1979, will become chairman of the newspaper.
Jones has been responsible for the news and business departments of the Post since January, when he became associate publisher.
He came to the Post in 1980 as vice president and counsel from practicing law. He attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar and studied law at Harvard University.
