For the 2002 elections, washingtonpost.com will run election news and information from Congressional Quarterly Inc., publisher of the well-respected news magazine and Web site covering Congress.
The Washington Post Web site had a similar arrangement with CQ for the 2000 elections. The CQ content will complement the Post‘s political coverage in the OnPolitics section of washingtonpost.com, which covers House, Senate, and gubernatorial races.
A spokesman for Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive said the company is looking into the possibility of licensing the Post and Congressional Quarterly content to other outlets.
CQ is owned by the Times Publishing Co. of St. Petersburg, Fla., publisher of the St. Petersburg Times.
