Weekly ‘Argus Champion’ Gives up Ghost

The Argus Champion, a weekly newspaper that has covered New Hampshire?s Lake Sunapee area since 1823, will fold at the end of this month.

In a letter to readers in this week?s edition, Publisher Harvey Hill said the newspaper has been losing money each month.

The Argus has a circulation of about 4,500. Publishing for 185 years, its website said the paper is one of the oldest weekly newspapers in New Hampshire.
