What’s Happening With Tribune Media’s ComicsPage.com?

By: Dave Astor

Has Tribune Media Services (TMS) ended its ComicsPage.com site?

“Out of the Ink Bottle” cartoon blogger Kurt Kolka thinks so, according to a piece he posted yesterday on the Web site of Michigan’s Gaylord Herald Times.

And the home page of ComicsPage.com tells visitors: “You can continue to read your favorite comic strips and editorial cartoons on GoComics.com [affiliated with Universal Press Syndicate]. And now there are official Facebook groups for your favorite comic strips and editorial cartoons.”

ComicsPage.com still lists a ComicsPage-related e-mail address for visitors to get news and updates, and to send questions and comments.

E&P contacted a TMS spokesperson this morning about the fate of ComicsPage.com, but has not yet received a reply.

TMS comics include “Bliss,” “Bound & Gagged,” “Brenda Starr,” “Brewster Rockit: Space Guy!,” “Dick Tracy,” “Gasoline Alley,” “Housebroken,” “Raising Hector,” “Shoe,” “Sylvia,” and various others.

Among the editorial cartoonists syndicated by TMS are Paul Conrad, Matt Davies, Walt Handelsman, David Horsey, and Dick Locher.

Kolka’s piece can be seen here.
