Chicago Gay/Lesbian Paper Closed Last Month

Windy City Times, the Chicago gay paper that folded in July after
15 years of publication, could be revived as early as this week.

Lambda Publications Publisher Tracy Baim said she is in negotiations
with Windy City Times owner Jeffrey McCourt to purchase the name of
the paper, which would be merged with one of her gay papers, Outlines.

Windy City Times closed almost exactly a year after a mass exodus of
staffers, who started the competing weekly Chicago Free Press.
Potential purchaser Baim founded Lambda in 1987 after leaving Windy
City Times along with several other staffers.
