News and circulation department employees at the Worcester (Mass.) Telegram & Gazette have reached a new, two-year employment contract with the newspaper, according to the Worcester Business Journal.

The Telegram & Gazette’s unit of the Providence Newspaper Guild Local 31041 has been in negotiations with parent company The New York Times Co. for three years since its previous contract expired.

Under the new agreement, to be signed in the next few days, the 119 members of Local 31041 at the Telegram & Gazette will receive a one-time lump sum payment and a provision to reopen wage negotiations in a year, the Worcester Business Journal reported.

The union stated that the new contract allows for a cap on union employees’ share of health insurance costs without significant changes to their level of coverage.
