If you were to make a list of possible celebrity columnists – and check it twice – you might go to town with Santa Claus.

Which is what Universal Press Syndicate is doing from Dec. 1 to Dec. 23. It’s offering the daily 200-word ?Santa’s Corner? free to newspapers and online outlets that download it from Universal’s Web site.

Santa couldn’t be reached for comment, but Universal quoted him describing his column: ?It’s mostly my ramblings about how I feel about Christmas and my job. I want to give people some insights into what it’s like to be me.?

Is this some kind of snow job? Is St. Nick really putting his words into (very) cold type? ?Santa is very busy this time of year, so some of the column will be ghostwritten,? admits Universal Director of Communications Kathie Kerr, who said the authors include Universal staffers and creators.

Delivery via chimney is not available.
