Not much of a story behind this one. It’s just a unique version of the Richard Thompson rarity, “Persuasion,” performed on Scottish TV in 1999 with his son Teddy.

For those not in the know (surely the overwhelming majority): Richard Thompson, ace songwriter and one of the great guitarists of our time, has been a cult and critics’ favorite since his days with Fairport Convention in the early 1970s. With his ex-wife Linda, he recorded some classic albums after that, and they also produced young Teddy — now a tremendous songwriter and singer in his own right with two CDs to his credit.
