Sen. John McCain made headlines this week when he proclaimed, on several TV shows, that the “surge” was working so well in Baghdad, gosh, an American could walk along many of the streets with hardly a helmet. When reporters and some military on the ground there disputed this, he claimed that he’d never said it, or it was misinterpreted.
The next day more than 100 Iraqis died in the worse period of violence in weeks.
Anyway. One good thing was: Stephen Colbert on the Colbert Report had some fun with McCain. And what’s with that Michigan congressman??
