Zillow.com has started rolling out features to its 280 plus newspaper partners.
The online real estate site launched such add-ons as letting agents and home sellers buying an ad with the local paper to purchase a “featured” listing on Zillow. In turn, people seeking to buy homes on Zillow will see more listings and open houses in their local market.
“The tremendous local reach of our newspapers and online sites, coupled with our strong local sales forces, provides a powerful springboard for this partnership with Zillow,” Lincoln Millstein, senior vice president of Hearst Newspapers, said in a statement on behalf of the newspaper consortium.
A few papers each week, starting with Philadelphia Inquirer, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, and Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch will introduce the Zillow listing ability.
“Reading the weekend real estate section is a ritual that many enjoy and to brokers and agents, the paper is a core marketing tool,” Lloyd Frink, president of Zillow, said in a statement. “Now, the process of real estate discovery will be further integrated into the online world.”
