Elaine Zinngrabe has been appointed publisher of three California newspapers: the Glendale News-Press, Burbank Leader, and Foothill Leader.

Zinngrabe, 32, has been general manager of three Times Community News papers in Orange County, Calif. — the Daily Pilot, Huntington Beach Independent, and the Coastline Pilot — since July 2005.

“It couldn’t be a better time to be starting here, and I feel privileged to become part of the team,” she told the News-Press.

Previously, Zinngrabe was head of Los Angeles Times Interactive and has worked with the USC news service. She started her career in 1995 as a copy editor and reporter with The Seattle Times.

She succeeds Will Fleet, who left to become president and publisher of The Herald in Bradenton, Fla.
