Greg Zorthian has been named global circulation director for the Financial Times. His new responsibilities include overseeing the distribution operations and exploring the use of new formats and technologies in print. Both production and distribution departments will report into Zorthian.
Zorthian reports to CEO John Ridding and will become a member of the board.
Previously, Zorthian was vice president of circulation in the U.S. He has also worked Forbes, Time Inc., and Magellan Media Consulting Partners.
“This is a crucial role for the Financial Times,” Ridding said in a statement. “It is at the core of our strategy of maximizing yield and efficiency of our print circulation and building the quality of our circulation, particularly the subscriber base. We have established a highly effective global print and distribution operation. Greg’s strong global background and the teams we have in place around the world will enable us to extend further our market leadership.”
