The Sun Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. has named Rob Cravaritis, a 21-year veteran in advertising sales and business development, as its new vice president of advertising.
“We look forward to having Rob on board,” said Sun Sentinel publisher and editor-in-chief Howard Saltz. “His extensive experience in advertising sales and business development will be a valuable addition to the Sun Sentinel Media Group as we continue to transform our company,”
Cravaritis comes to the Sun Sentinel from Hearst-owned Houston Chronicle Media Group where, as executive vice president of sales, he oversaw ad sales and daily operations of the auto, real estate, recruitment, and local/major retail sales teams. He also successfully led revenue-building strategy and strategic vision, while growing market share across an extensive multi-media product suite.
Previously, Cravaritis was vice president of recruitment advertising and marketplaces for Hearst’s Texas newspapers, where he also managed a successful partnership with Monster.com. Prior to joining Hearst, he held leadership positions at CareerBuilder, Dex Media, Verizon Information Services and AOL. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Frostburg State University in Maryland.
