Austin American-Statesman Editor Retires, Replacement Named

Austin, Texas–Fred Zipp has retired as editor at the Austin American-Statesman. He had been with the publication since 1998, holding positions as assistant managing editor and managing editor.  

Former managing editor Debbie Hiott has replaced Zipp. Hiott joined the publication in 1990 as an intern and has held positions as reporter, state editor, metro editor and assistant managing editor. Her replacement has yet to be announced.
