BPA Worldwide Names VP of Sustainability Assurance

Shelton, Conn.– BPA Worldwide has named Karl Pfalzgraf as vice president, sustainability assurance. Pfalzgraf will handle business development for BPA’s sustainability assurance audits, one of the services offered under the iCompli banner. iCompli provides independent third-party assurance on government, industry or internally developed standards.

“Karl brings a wealth of industry knowledge in regards to sustainability and standards to BPA,” said Glenn Hansen, BPA president and chief executive officer. “As we continue to grow iCompli services, I am confident Karl’s expertise will help take this initiative to the next level and position iCompli as a leader in assuring companies’ sustainability performance.”

Pfalzgraf added, “An established, highly respected not-for-profit auditing organization such as BPA will fill an important space in the sustainability sector. Companies are looking for a credible provider of high quality, yet affordable, third-party assurance.”

Before joining BPA, Pfalzgraf held a number of positions in which he honed his expertise in sustainability. Most recently, he served as director, business development, brand and communications, with AccountAbility, where he developed sales, marketing and brand communications programs to raise the profile of this leading international corporate responsibility think tank and consultancy.

Prior to AccountAbility, Pfalzgraf worked with PriceWaterhouseCoopers for more than 10 years, first as global communications leader, assurance and business advisory Services, and most recently as director, global brand and communications where he was responsible for global sustainability communications. Between 1992 and 1999, he served with J.P. Morgan as vice president, corporate communications.
