Brian Garnock Announced as Newsday Media Group’s New Senior Vice President of Revenue Managment and Strategy

Newsday Media Group (NMG) announced that Brian Garnock will be joining the company as senior vice president, revenue management and strategy effective October 13, 2015.


Mr. Garnock will be leading all of NMG’s advertising sales efforts encompassing digital and print for national, retail and local categories. This includes Newsday Connect which delivers digital marketing services to small and medium sized businesses. Mr. Garnock, a former senior ad sales executive with Hearst, and The New York Times, will report to NMG Publisher Gordon McLeod.

Mr. Garnock has an impressive and diverse 18-year media career. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of Hearst Digital Media, overseeing digital sales for their well-known magazine brands, including Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, Town & Country and Elle. Prior to Hearst, he held senior sales leadership positions with and Buddy Media. From 1997 to 2010, Mr. Garnock served in various positions with The New York Times Media Group, starting as an account manager and ultimately becoming vice president of advertising, with responsibilities across a wide range of advertising strategy, operations and initiatives.


He is a native Long Islander and lives with his family in Melville, New York.
