Reuters has named David Cay Johnston as columnist focusing on tax news and other business subjects. A 13-year veteran of The New York Times, Johnston received the Pulitzer Prize in 2001 for his reporting on the tax system’s inner workings. During the course of his career in investigative journalism, he broke stories exposing Enron for not paying taxes, the United Way for unauthorized spending and Donald Trump for owing the government money. Most recently, he wrote a column for Tax Analysts, the nonprofit publisher of the weekly trade journal Tax Notes. He also serves as a Distinguished Visiting Lecturer at Syracuse University College of Law and Whitman School of Management.
