Hawkins Named Politics Editor at WSJ

Chuck Hawkins will join The Wall Street Journal‘s national desk as politics editor. He was previously the deputy business editor at the Associated Press. He had been overseeing the AP’s daily business report since 2004. Before that he worked as managing editor of daily operations at Congressional Quarterly in D.C., and before that managed Bloomberg’s Washington bureau. A native of Iowa, he began his career at The Gazette of Cedar Rapids in the mid-1970’s and was a business reporter at The Des Moines Register and Tribune and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He also spent several years at Business Week in New York, Toronto and Atlanta.
