Lee Ann Colacioppo has been named editor of The Denver Post, becoming the first woman to hold that position in the nearly 124-year history of the newspaper.
Colacioppo has worked in several key roles during her 17-year tenure, including city editor, investigations editor and news editor.
She was previously an editor at The Des Moines Register in Iowa. Colacioppo succeeds Gregory L. Moore, who resigned in April after 14 years as editor.
The Post also announced Reid Wicoff as senior vice president of advertising.
Wicoff has a worked in diversified advertising background, including newspaper, television, radio and digital advertising. He has served as the director of digital sales at CBS Local- Seattle, director of strategic sales and marketing at Entercom-Austin, director of digital and local sales at The Austin American Statesman and, most recently, as the vice president of digital at The Denver Post.
