Community Newspaper Holdings Inc. has named Matthew Ipsan as its chief digital officer. Ipsan was vice president of interactive media at The State Media Company in Columbia, S.C., a McClatchy subsidiary, before joining CNHI.
Ipsan has an extensive background in the digital platforms of the television and radio industries, having worked for Fox and ESPN networks as well as Belo Corp. He spent five years as general manager of the PGA Tour’s new media division.
Ipsan is a graduate of the University of Iowa, with a degree in broadcast communications. CNHI is a local news media company serving 150 communities in 24 states. It is based in Birmingham, Ala.
