Bill Lee, Longtime Editor of Chico Enterprise-Record, Dies at 96

Bill Lee, 96, who retired in 1983 as the Chico (Calif.) Enterprise-Record’s executive editor, died Oct. 18, in the home of his daughter Linda Lee.

The Lincoln, Neb., native was an icon of local journalism. He came to Chico in 1946, when pharmacist turned publisher A.W. Bramwell hired A.H. “Al” Weibel, as the editor of the afternoon newspaper, the Enterprise.
