Ed Sylvester, Longtime Cronkite School Prof, Dies at 72

Ed Sylvester, a longtime professor at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, died on Saturday, Nov. 8, of complications linked to cancer. He was 72.

An award-winning journalist, Sylvester joined the Cronkite School in 1980 and helped lead it into the digital age.

“Ed was a cornerstone of our school for more than three decades,” Cronkite School Dean Christopher Callahan said in a statement.
