Former Miami Herald Editor Alan Prince Dies

Alan Prince, a longtime journalist for the Miami Herald, a journalism professor at the University of Miami and 48-year national officer for the United States Harness Writers Association and a harness racing Hall of Fame Communicator inductee, has died. He was 85.

  

He began his newspaper career as a sports writer for the Union Leader, a New Jersey weekly newspaper, where he started covering harness racing.
