Former Record Leader Philip Bookman Dies

Philip Bookman, a 40-year career journalist who was executive editor of The Stockton Record from 1980 through 1991, died Thursday of natural causes at Hospice of San Joaquin. He was 78.

 

Bookman worked for various East Coast newspapers before leaving the Courier-Post of Camden, New Jersey, where he was managing editor, to take over the top newsroom position at The Record.
