Michael Shanahan, Journalist and University Professor, Dies at 71

Michael Shanahan, who spent nearly three decades covering Washington politics and policymaking for the Associated Press and other news outlets and who in recent years taught the art and craft of journalism to students at George Washington University, died Nov. 22 at a hospital in Washington. He was 71.

The cause was a stroke, said his wife, Victoria Elliott.
