Marvin Teel, whose work ethic and zest for life delighted those who knew him, died Saturday at age 90.

Teel was a well-known figure in Franklin County, where he was a rural mail carrier for 45 years. In more recent years, he was perhaps better known as a prolific letter to the editor writer, his words frequently appearing in The Southern Illinoisan, and as a paper carrier for The Benton Evening News.
