Harold K. Douthit, Jr., a publisher and owner of suburban weekly newspapers and of magazines who lobbied for strong public records and open meetings laws as he encouraged in-depth reporting on local government, died Tuesday in Stein Hospice, Sandusky, Ohio. He was 87.
He’d developed complications from long-term diabetes, his son Ken said.
